At Persontrafik, we will shine a spotlight on the stars of the public transport industry through a series of exciting competitions and award ceremonies. Below, you can find more information about the different competitions and awards, as well as how to submit your nomination.

Several modern buses are on display at the Persontrafik trade show, where visitors are taking a closer look at the vehicles and chatting in the exhibition hall.

The Vägvisaren 2026 Awards Ceremony

Who has taken the lead and shown the way for the bus industry during its most challenging times?

In 2026, BR—the Bus Industry Council for Research and Development—established the Vägvisaren Award. The award is to be presented to an individual in or closely associated with the bus industry who, through personal initiative and action, has made a difference in addressing a difficult or challenging industry issue. This may involve technological shifts, new partnerships, innovations, or development projects that have benefited a large part of the industry.

The Vägvisaren Award is appointed by the BR Board of Directors.

Kollektivtrafikens Eldsjäl!

For the second time, the public transport sector organizations invite you to participate in the Kollektivtrafikens Eldsjäl award. The aim is to show that a lot of good work is being done in the industry and to highlight those who are not always seen as frontrunners. It could be a person working in services that are rarely noticed or appreciated but working in one of the core areas of public transport.

”Kollektivtrafikens Eldsjäl 2026” utses under Persontrafik och delas ut torsdag 22 oktober kl 10.10-10.30 på Laddstationen, C14:30.

Best student essay

The “Kollektivtrafik på väg” student essay competition is a biennial competition that has been running since 2011. The aim is to contribute to the development of the industry by contributing new issues and new knowledge. The Swedish Bus and Coach Federation, the Swedish Public Transport Association and K2, the National Knowledge Center for Collective mobility, are behind the essay competition.

Assessment criteria: Best benefit for the public transport industry and highest scientific quality.

The jury consists of representatives from the organizations that established the award, and the award will be presented during Persontrafik on Tuesday, October 20, from 3:10 to 3:20 p.m. at Laddstationen, C14:30. Read more here.

 

 

Travelers Vote for “Best Station of the Year”

Stations, or stops, play a central role for travelers. The organization Resenärerna is running a project aimed at improving stations. They have analyzed almost 400 stations and stops, by reviewing 70 different checkpoints.

Based on the data, some of Sweden’s top stations are identified and recognized, with the goal of naming the country’s best station each year.

Resenärerna is a nationwide organization in Sweden that represents the interests of public transport users and is a member organization of Swedish Consumers. It operates independently and is non-partisan.

The “Station of the Year” for 2026 will be announced during the Persontrafik event and presented on Wednesday, October 21, from 10:05 to 10:25 a.m. at Laddstationen, C14:30. Read more here.

The "Sweden’s best-looking taxi 2026," Contest!

Since 2009, the magazine TAXIidag has been presenting an award for Sweden’s best-looking taxi, and now it’s that time again.

Nominations are closed for this year.

“SSweden’s best-looking taxi, 2026” will be announced at Persontrafik, and the award will be presented on Tuesday, October 20, at 2:00 p.m. at booth C04:12.
